SSU apprehends another GRU agent leaking Defence Forces Kramatorsk locations to enemy

The SSU Counterintelligence has detained another agent of russian military intelligence (‘the GRU’), who guided russian missile and drone attacks on Kramatorsk and its surroundings.

This time, russian strikes were adjusted by a 52-year-old local unemployed woman who came to the GRU’s attention through her acquaintance from russia.

As the investigation established, the agent provided to the occupiers the locations of urban facilities where, in her opinion, Ukrainian defenders were located.

She also passed information to the aggressor state on the aftermath of russian shelling. For example, the asset reported to her handler on the technical condition of energy facilities, which the enemy targeted with kamikaze drones.

To gather intelligence, she walked in the target areas and elicited information from acquaintances.

The SSU Counterintelligence documented her crimes and detained her at her home. Simultaneously, action was taken to protect Ukrainian units and sites in the area of enemy reconnaissance activity.

A smartphone which she used to maintain contact with the GRU was seized during the search.

SSU investigators notified the detainee of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).

The suspect is in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions under the procedural supervision of Donetsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
