SSU prevents embezzlement of UAH 1 bln of COVID-19 funds (video)
Since the start of the pandemic, the SSU has been cracking down on COVID-19-related crimes. The SSU prevented the embezzlement of a total of almost UAH 1 b (USD 37, 707 390) of COVID funds.
Largely, the Service achieved such results due to proactive efforts, working at the stage of criminal intent.
The SSU exposed dozens of corruption schemes in the building of new units for COVID-19 patients, as well as fraud in the medical equipment procurement.
During special operations, the SSU seized 200 tons of counterfeit antiseptic and stopped the production and sale of hazardous counterfeit disinfectants.
Besides, the Service is working consistently in the cyberspace. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the SSU:
- blocked 3,000 coronavirus disinformation resources;
- shut down hundreds of attempts to falsify medical databases (one falsification attempt allows to enter an unlimited number of pseudo-vaccinated people);
- has been continuously cracking down on schemes to forge PCR tests and vaccination certificates.
The SSU urges Ukrainians to treat the coronavirus threat responsibly. We care about your safety, and we ask you to take care of your health and the health of your close ones.
