SSU detains FSB agent who set up video traps to coordinate russian strikes on Kyiv region
Near Kyiv, the cyber units of the Security Service of Ukraine have detained another agent of russia’s federal security service who was coordinating russian missile and drone attacks on Kyiv region. The targets that russian intelligence wanted to reconnoiter were the locations of AFU military units and SSU bases.
To guide the air strikes, the agent was to install hidden Wi-Fi cameras with online streaming for russian special services opposite the buildings of the defense facilities.
After purchasing the first mini-camera with FSB money, the enemy accomplice arrived at one of the military installations to set up an ‘observation point’ near it.
However, the perpetrator did not manage to do so, as the SSU detained her near the defense building.
A video device and a phone with evidence of her work for russia were seized at the scene.
According to the investigation, the suspect is a 30-year-old unemployed woman from Boryspil, who was remotely recruited by the occupiers on a Telegram channel offering quick money.
The investigation established that her other task was to track the consequences of enemy hits in Kyiv region. To do this, she periodically visited locations provided by her handler.
SSU investigators have notified the detainee of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).
The suspect is in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The operation was carried out under the procedural supervision of the Office of the Prosecutor General.
