SSU detains group of enemy agents who adjusted ruscist air attacks on Mykolaiv
The Security Service of Ukraine has dismantled another agent group of russian intelligence services in Mykolaiv. Four of its members have been detained: they were adjusting missile and drone strikes on the city.
The aggressor’s priority targets were reserve command posts and logistics warehouses of the AFU units fighting on the southern front.
To identify the coordinates, the spies separately walked the streets of Mykolaiv and adjacent areas, taking photos of likely locations of Ukrainian troops.
They also tracked the places of stops and maintenance of military equipment of the Armed Forces and the National Guard, which was heading to the front line.
The assets sent the collected data via a messenger app to their contact – ‘military correspondent’ Serhii Lebedev (‘Lokhmatyi’), who is hiding in Donetsk and works for the FSB and the GRU.
The SSU uncovered the agent group, documented the crimes and detained the perpetrators at their homes. Action was taken to protect the locations of the Defence Forces.
According to the investigation, all four individuals came to the attention of russian special services when they posted pro-kremlin comments on Lokhmatyi’s Telegram channel.
Mobile phones with evidence of work for the enemy were seized during searches.
SSU investigators have notified the detainees of suspicion under two Articles of the CCU:
- 111.2 (high treason, committed under martial law);
- 114-2.3 (dissemination of information on the movement or location of the AFU, committed under martial law).
The suspects are in custody and face from 12 years in prison to life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The investigation is ongoing to bring to justice all those involved in the operation of this FSB agent group.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Mykolaiv Office under the supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
