The Security Service of Ukraine has apprehended 14 supporters of ruscism who justified russia’s armed aggression and disseminated information on the locations of Ukrainian defenders online.

In Zhytomyr, an enemy agitator was detained for spreading fake news about the Defense Forces and calling on Ukrainians to lay down their arms before the enemy.

The detained is a 57-year-old repeat offender from Donetsk region with a previous conviction.

While in Zhytomyr, the perpetrator spread kremlin propaganda among those around him, particularly in crowded places.

In Zakarpattia, three more online agitators were exposed: on social media they praised the annexation of Crimea and called for the ‘annexation’ of Zakarpattia region of Ukraine to russia.

In Rivne region, a 25-year-old administrator of a Viber group received a notice of suspicion. He tried to discredit Ukrainian defenders and leaked their locations. Among other things, he spread information about the routes and locations of mobile squads of the Territorial Recruitment Centers and the police.

In Ternopil region, a local deserter was exposed who had left his military unit without permission and publicly denied russia’s war against Ukraine.

In the frontline areas of Donetsk region, five more accomplices of the aggressor were detained. They praised putin and glorified russian troops on their pages on the banned social networks Odnoklassniki and VKontakte.

In Cherkasy region, the subversive activities of a local Telegram channel administrator, who published the locations of the Defense Forces in Uman, have been blocked. Among the leaked coordinates were the locations of the Territorial Recruitment Center.

In Poltava region, two owners of a closed group on Viber were detained: they daily leaked locations of Ukrainian troops and law enforcement officers in the region.

The SSU has notified the perpetrators of suspicion of committing crimes under several Articles of the CCU, according to the actions each of them committed:

• 114-1.1 (obstruction of the lawful activities of the AFU, during a special period);
• 109.2 (public calls for forceful change or overthrow of the constitutional order or the seizure of state power, as well as the dissemination of materials calling for such actions);
• 436-2.1 (justification, recognition as legitimate, denial of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).

The suspects face up to 8 years in prison with confiscation of property.

The operations were carried out by the SSU Offices in Zhytomyr, Zakarpattia, Rivne, Ternopil, Donetsk, Cherkasy, and Poltava regions under the procedural supervision of regional Prosecutor’s Offices and the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for the Western Region.
