SSU detains traitor who guided russian missiles at Kharkiv and encouraged enemy to capture city
The SSU’s cyber units have uncovered another enemy accomplice who spied on Ukraine’s Defence Forces in Kharkiv.
The perpetrator was a valuable asset for russians as she performed a controlling function for the russian intelligence. The woman would go to the target area and check the coordinates sent to her by her handlers.
During the reconnaissance, the traitor took photos of the ‘necessary’ objects and marked them on Google maps.
Then, she would send the ‘report’ via a messenger app.
In her texting with the enemy, the agent called for more frequent strikes on Kharkiv to cause maximum damage.
She was hoping the city would be occupied and ‘annexed’ to russia.
The SSU identified the spy at the initial stage. Her criminal actions were documented, and the suspect was detained.
The investigation revealed that the agent was an unemployed local resident and an ideological supporter of ruscism. At the end of 2023, she was recruited remotely by a russian intelligence officer.
The woman agreed to cooperate with the aggressor, hoping to receive a ‘position’ in the occupation administration if russia takes the city.
During the searches, the SSU found a phone with evidence of reconnaissance and sabotage activities against Ukraine.
SSU investigators have served the detainee a notice of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason, committed under martial law).
The suspect is in custody and faces life imprisonment.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Kharkiv region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
