Sanctions against participants and organizers of elections to Russian State Duma in Crimea are being imposed
The National Security and Defense Council pursuant to the SSU materials approved a decision on economic sanctions against participants and organizers of elections to the State Duma in the territory of temporarily occupied Crimea in September. This decision was approved by NSDC today.
“As any Russian election on the territory of Ukraine – this is the violation of international law, democratic rights and freedoms of citizens. New sanctions involve another 121 individuals. Mainly, they are the election committee members and parliamentary candidates”, – informed the SSU Head Ivan Bakanov.
Also the SSU suggested to intensify earlier imposed sanctions against 157 individuals who facilitated the occupational authority to conduct elections in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
Furthermore, according to the SSU recommendation, economic sanctions will be imposed against 5 more individuals and 6 companies. All of them are somehow concerned with Russian company that owns supermarkets distribution network.
Ivan Bakanov assured that the security service consistently monitors the situation for further response to Russian hybrid aggression challenges.
