‘Burn the FSB-man’
Information campaign ‘Burn the FSB-man’
The Security Service of Ukraine systematically counteracts the espionage and sabotage activities of russian special services in Ukraine. An important area of the Service’s efforts is the fight against the enemy’s attempts to involve young people in criminal activities — arson, terrorist attacks and sabotage.
To prevent the recruitment of minors, the SSU, together with the National Police, is conducting a nationwide information campaign Burn the FSB-man. Its purpose is to inform about the goals and methods of russian intelligence services, as well as possible consequences of cooperating with them.
Chatbot ‘Burn the FSB-man’
As part of the campaign, the Security Service has launched a special chatbot called Burn the FSB-man (t.me/spaly_fsb_bot) to quickly gather information on attempts by russian special services to recruit people. It was created on Telegram, as this network is most often used by the enemy to recruit Ukrainian citizens, especially young people and minors, to set fire to Ukrainian Armed Forces vehicles and premises of Territorial Recruitment Centers, for bomb threats, to carry out acts of sabotage and terrorist attacks. Through the chatbot Burn the FSB-man, you can provide detailed information to the SSU about recruitment attempts in just a few clicks: indicate the social network or messenger app used by russian special services, specify the objects against which they proposed to carry out sabotage, and provide the phone number or nickname of the person who was involving you to commit a crime.
Social media video
An important part of the information campaign is a social media video called Burn the FSB-man, produced by the SSU in collaboration with renowned Ukrainian film director Lyubomyr Levytskyi. The video informs citizens, especially young people, about the inevitability of punishment for such crimes. After all, russian special services are actively ‘hunting’ for minors on the Internet, offering them criminal ‘jobs’.
Lectures for schoolchildren and students
As part of the information campaign, officers of the Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police meet with schoolchildren and students in educational institutions in all regions of Ukraine. During the events, they tell young people about the methods used by russian special services to recruit teenagers on social networks and in messengers and provide practical advice on how not to fall into the enemy’s trap.
