SSU identifies how enemy recruited terrorist blown up by russia in Rivne Territorial Recruitment Center

The SSU documented the organization of a terrorist attack by the occupiers in Rivne Regional Territorial Recruitment Center on February 1 this year using an agent they recruited.

The man was deliberately blown up along with the explosives he had brought inside the premises.

As a result, the terrorist was killed on the spot, and eight servicemen sustained injuries of varying severity.

As was established, russia had prepared the liquidation of its agent as an ‘unnecessary’ witness to the terrorist attack against the Defence Forces.

The perpetrator was a 21-year-old unemployed man from Zhytomyr region who was looking for quick money on Telegram channels.

He was recruited there by the russian intelligence – they offered him money for the task.

On his handler’s instructions, the agent arrived in Rivne with an improvised explosive device disguised in a tourist backpack.

The IED was equipped with a mobile phone, remotely accessed by the russian special service.

The attacker was holding another device with remote control when he entered the TRC building.

Using a phone camera, the russians recorded the moment when the asset entered the building with the explosives and immediately activated the IED by making a phone call.

The investigation is ongoing under Article 258.3 of the CCU (terrorist act) and is conducted under the procedural supervision of Rivne Specialized Defence Prosecutor’s Office of the Western Region.

The SSU also recently prevented a terrorist attack near the Rivne District Police Department – two enemy agents were detained. And yesterday, the SSU uncovered an agent group that tried to blow up a police unit in Bukovyna.

In addition, another agent of the aggressor preparing a large-scale terrorist attack in downtown Kyiv was recently detained by the Service. An IED with a 7 kg of TNT capacity was seized from the suspect.
