SBU officers blocked an illegal scheme with precious stones illegally mined in Ukraine. Offenders processed topaz, beryl and quartz at a jewelry factory and then illegally exported for sale abroad. During searches, they were seized of more than 2 tons of precious stones.

In Kharkiv region, SBU Counterintelligence officers found a cache of weapons, including Russian-made RSHG-1 assault grenades, during investigative actions against a previously detained militant of the LNR terrorist organization.

The offenders caused damage to the state budget amounting to UAH 230 m (USD 8,2 m). They set up a real estate scheme.

The SBU exposed and blocked illegal activity of the so-called private military company. The IAF was involved in commission of serious crimes. It also took part in crimes against foundations of national security.
In the city of Odesa, the Security Service of Ukraine prevented smuggling of a large batch of tobacco products into our country. The perpetrators were planning to smuggle almost 600 boxes of excisable goods, worth about UAH 15 m (USD 536,000) through the Chornomorsk Fishing Port.

In Kharkiv, the SBU exposed involvement of a director of a coke plant in environmental pollution. The CEO was served a suspicion notice, and the plant was temporarily shut down.
The SBU investigators continue to investigate the actions of representatives of the NGO “Ukrainskyi Vybir". The law enforcement has reasonable grounds to suspect the NGO members of promoting the illegal referendum and elections in the temporarily occupied AR of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol in 2014.

The SBU publishes new evidence proving illegal supply of munitions from Russia. The relevant information was presented during today’s special briefing of the SBU and Prosecutor General’s Office.

"It is your special service that covers the widest province, responding to threats throughout Ukraine: in peaceful cities, in the front lines, and in the occupied territories," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
