Military Medical Department

The Military Medical Department is responsible for health care in the SSU system.

The Department controls the activities of all SSU military medical units, including the medical and preventive treatment facility, ambulatory and hospital care, and patient rehabilitation.

The department is particularly relevant for those SSU employees that take part in the Joint Forces Operation in the east of Ukraine. In the JFO territory, the Military Medical Department provides SSU staff with medical assistance and support.

  • 90% of SSU servicemen and women wounded in the ATO/JFO receive rehabil-itation therapy in SSU medical facilities and return to service.
  • Doctors of 26 specialties provide qualified medical care to patients.

The patients undergo hospital treatment in specialised units of the SSU MMD Central Hospital. In recent years, modern methods of treatment, including minimally inva-sive, have been introduced, including endoscopic, laparoscopic, arthroscopic and urological operations. Additionally, the MMD also provides drug and rehabilitation treatment.

The MMD also has modern diagnostic labs which conduct over 140 types of clinical, hematology, biochemical, cytologic and immunoserological tests.
