The Security Service of Ukraine blocked an attempt to illegally alienate property of Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company PJSC (UDP) by the company's top management. The organizers’ actions could have caused losses to the company amounting to more than UAH 2 billion (USD 71,4 m).
In Khmelnytskyi region, the SBU prevented smuggling of cultural property to the EU. The total value of the seized antiques tops UAH 1 m (USD 35,714).
Russian special services are conducting information campaigns against Ukraine. Separate units are working exclusively to destabilize the situation in our country.
The SBU, in cooperation with the Spanish Civil Guard, suppressed a cocaine smuggling channel. The special services seized a consignment of drugs weighing 0.5 kg, sent to Ukraine from the European Union.
During the pre-trial investigation it was established that the Doctor of Technical Sciences demanded money from an entrepreneur. For this, he promised to rent a non-residential premises of the Institute of Electrodynamics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in one of the central districts of the capital.
In city of Kyiv, the SBU blocked activity of an organized group specialized in the preparation and sale of drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors. Allegedly, the offenders’ monthly “profit” was almost UAH 70 m (USD 2.5m).
“Since 2014, the SBU has initiated 16,643 criminal proceedings for treason and terrorism,” said the SBU Head Ivan Bakanov after a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council.
It was documented that offenders set up a large-scale illegal scheme for the circulation and sale of low-quality petroleum products. In this way the perpetrators deliberately avoided paying taxes. The illegal activity caused large-scale losses to the state budget.
The operatives established that the offender organized a scheme of obtaining money from the head of an agricultural company. For the illegal benefit, he “guaranteed” the entrepreneur to transfer 15 hectares of the university land without the appropriate permits.
The SBU jointly with the Road Service in Kharkiv region prevented UAH 1 billion (USD 36 m) state losses. A scam was planned by managers of a foreign company during road works.
