SSU is taking all-out efforts to combat corruption posing a significant risk to national security. Since early 2021, 64 individuals, involved in border corruption, have received suspicion papers, and 14 offenders have been convicted.

SSU exposed new evidence of Russian institutional presence on the occupied territory of Donetsk region. The education and science reform of the so-called DNR is going up to the standards of Russia. The issued by the so-called DNR graduate degrees have already been recognized by Russian authority. An officer of the state security of Russia is serving the post of the Minister of the Department of Education of the so-called DNR.

In Lviv, SSU cyber experts cracked down on an illegal network of call centers used to embezzle money from foreigners under the guise of investing in cryptocurrency.

The SSU detained a former top official of the SE Kyiv Armored Plant. His corrupt activity, while in office in 2014, caused state losses worth UAH 12 m (USD 450,119). In order to avoid punishment, the offender fled to the separatist-held areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
