Investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the Security Service of Ukraine, under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor General’s Office, have completed a pre-trial investigation against one of the commanders of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. The criminal case file was referred to the Court.
The Security Service of Ukraine has documented a large embezzlement of public funds by officials of the Kyivavtodor. According to available information, only one of its procurements caused losses to the capital budget of over UAH 20 ml.
In the city of Vinnytsia, the SBU has exposed and documented a large-scale electricity theft. The offenders mined cryptocurrency in one of the former premises of JSC Vinnytsiaoblenerho. Ukrainian law enforcement seized almost 5,000 computers. It is the largest underground crypto farm.
The SBU exposed a criminal group that counterfeited money. The banknotes were not identified as counterfeit even by fake currency detector.
The SBU exposed large-scale illegal schemes in "Spetskombinat PKPO", municipal enterprise providing funeral services. The suspects demanded bribes for the allocation of burial plots in Kyiv cemeteries.
In June 2021, specialists of the SBU Situation Center for Cyber Security thwarted 76 cyber-attacks targeted at information systems of public authorities.
In Luhansk region, the SBU found a cache of weapons, ammunition and explosives. During the investigative actions, an offender was detained.
The SBU blocked a large-scale channel for precursor smuggling through the Boryspil International Airport. Offenders imported precursors for production of drugs from one of the Arab countries. An estimated street value of the seized consignment is almost UAH 4 m.
In Mykolaiv region, SBU officers exposed and stopped illegal extraction of granite in a quarry.
The SBU has exposed illegal import of consignments with foreign cigarettes amounting to almost UAH 10 m. (USD 357,142).
