The SBU exposed corruption during the overhaul of the sports complex in Donetsk region. Illegal scheme was organized by the head of the Department of Family, Youth and Sports of one of the regional city councils and the director of contracting company.

In the first quarter of 2021, SBU CI terminated ahead of schedule the powers of two foreign diplomats who worked in Ukraine. They violated the requirements of the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations.
In the first quarter of 2021, the SBU prevented economic losses to the state totaling UAH 19.4 billion (USD 692.9 m). At the same time, the Service restored the right of state ownership to financial and material values worth UAH 500 m (USD 17.9 m). In total, the SBU prevented almost UAH 20 billion state losses.
