SBU stops activity of criminal gang

The SBU liquidated eliminated an organized criminal group. Its members specialized in smuggling and selling cocaine and psychotropic substances in the city of Kyiv, Kyiv and Odesa region.

Donetsk region: SBU exposes multi-million fraud during reconstruction of social facility

The SBU exposed corruption during the overhaul of the sports complex in Donetsk region. Illegal scheme was organized by the head of the Department of Family, Youth and Sports of one of the regional city councils and the director of contracting company.

The Security Service of Ukraine documented corruption schemes organized by the management of Sumyoblenergo JSC. The top management of the enterprise transferred over UAH 80 m (USD 2,8 m) to non-observed economy.

SBU exposes enemies of Ukraine: more than 80 persons convicted of crimes against national security since early 2021

Early 2021, SBU investigations resulted in more than 80 convictions for crimes against the national security of Ukraine. The offenders were convicted of encroachment on the territorial integrity of Ukraine and involvement in terrorism.

SBU employee exposed on extortion of USD 50,000

The SBU Main Office of Internal Security transferred to court the case files against an employee of the SBU Office in Odesa region. The suspect is accused of extortion for non-disclosure of information.

Kharkiv region: SBU conducts large-scale anti-terrorist training

On April 14, the SBU starts multi-stage anti-terrorist training in Kharkiv region. The training will be held for 1,5 months; special attention will be paid to the border areas.

Poltava region: SBU exposes officials of UkrGazVydobuvannya on large-scale misappropriation

The SBU documented misappropriation of almost 100 tons of fuel in Poltava region. The market value of fuel is about UAH 3 m. (USD 107,142). The fraud was organized by officials of a division of UkrGazVydobuvannya JSC.

SBU blocks smuggling of firearms to Ukraine

The SBU blocked the illegal supply of disassembled firearms to Ukraine. The operation was conducted jointly with law enforcement agencies of the United States and the Republic of Poland, as well as the Europol National Unit.

During a meeting with SBU Head Ivan Bakanov, Chargé d'Affaires Kristina Kvien assured that the United States supports Ukraine's territorial integrity and is willing to assist in countering Russian aggression.

In the first quarter of 2021, SBU CI terminated ahead of schedule the powers of two foreign diplomats who worked in Ukraine. They violated the requirements of the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations.

Results for first quarter of 2021: SBU prevents USD 714.3 million state losses

In the first quarter of 2021, the SBU prevented economic losses to the state totaling UAH 19.4 billion (USD 692.9 m). At the same time, the Service restored the right of state ownership to financial and material values worth UAH 500 m (USD 17.9 m). In total, the SBU prevented almost UAH 20 billion state losses.
