In Dnipro city, the SBU detained a leader and members of an organized criminal group that terrorized entrepreneurs and residents of several regions. Law enforcement officers documented extortion of huge amount of money from citizens.

During the special operation in Dnipropetrovsk region the Security Service of Ukraine detained the leader and four members of an organized criminal group, that threatened and tortured civilians. The powerful arsenal of weapons, including machine guns, mines and explosives was seized from the attackers.
Foreign intelligence services carry on to negatively affect the situation in Ukraine and, especially by using different criminal networks. On July 16 the SBU Head Ivan Bakanov pointed out this at the coordination meeting of heads of state law enforcement agencies, which was held in the Prosecutor General Office.
The Security Service of Ukraine is investigating the fact of usage of NVU-P “Hunting” non-contact explosive device by illegal armed actors. The device is produced in Russia and is banned by Ottava Treaty in 1997.

SBU CI officers exposed and detained an agent of Russia’s FSB, who was collecting defense intelligence.
"During the first half of 2020, the Security Service of Ukraine prevented three terrorist attacks and detained four involved persons", said the Head of the SBU Ivan Bakanov, commenting on the outcomes of the Service for six months of this year.

During 2019-2020, the SBU shut down 25 illegal call-centers with a multi-million turnover, which involved in extortion of money from citizens on the Internet.

The SBU stopped the illegal activity of an organized criminal group. For USD 100,000, offenders promised a businessman to “settle” the issue of estate resumption due to contacts with law enforcement agencies. The pre-trial investigation is currently verifying this information.

Due to SBU investigation, Dniprovskyi District Court of Kyiv sentenced Petro Mikhalchevskyi, the former “Minister of Health” of the temporarily occupied Crimea, to 10 years in prison.
